I have not read that book, but it is so weird to not have that car anymore. It’s strange to get in my new car and not just be sitting in a swamp and to have it just smell good and start up easily. I’m glad you could relate. I hope you like your new car. I feel like people smile at me on the road more now.

Whew! Congrats on your new car, Julie. So interesting reading this now...as I prepare to sell a car that truly has my heart. We grew up together, in a way. But (in addition to getting rid of everything as I prepare to move continents) the spoiler no longer goes down so a warning signal is blaring the entire time while driving. In any case, I'm grateful that she held on til the end...

After recently recovering from my own car buying woes, this newsletter came at a good time. I read every word and felt oddly soothed. Have you read, "Grief is for people" by Sloane Crosley? I think you might like it. The author explores how weird it feels to grieve a *thing* - that book and your newsletter both made me feel seen in this strange grief.
