Thank you for taking me on this hike! Whenever I've been in town I wanted to hike up to Nordhoff, but none of the people I know want to go with me and I'm too scared to do it alone. Best of luck on your training and the big hike!
AH thank you!!! SIde note-I’ve done Nordhoff alone when no one wanted to hike up to the snow with me. For some reason, I’ve never thought to be afraid of it. The trail always feels like the safest place I could go.
Thanks for the encouragement. I think I'm mostly afraid of breaking a leg and being stranded up there... why this would happen only on that hike and not the others I don't know.
Also Julie -- small coincidence... I was leading the write to heal retreat this weekend and shared a poem from Paul Willis, an author I met in CA a few years back. I bought his book of poems he wrote while in nature. And the one I shared was from the forest you mentioned that you hiked in your post! He has a bunch from that area specifically. The area sounds beautiful!
This is so exciting for you! You are due for a new obsession. (Said with love).
I’m more of a 3 mile hike and brunch girl so I truly admire your fitness and ambition.
I'm with you - 3 mile hike and brunch

HAHA! Don’t worry. The Ojai Valley Land Conservancy had the the leg-breaking bunnies relocated. Also, someone would eventually find you.
I am looking forward to the vicarious journey.
How fun! And challenging. And exhilarating. And beautiful. Congrats 👏
I’m down. I’m up. I’m in.
This sounds beyond amazing, Julie. I’d eagerly follow along if you share chapters here!
super excited for you - what an experience!!
